My name is Journey Walker. I am from a small town in southern Arkansas. I work as a mental health counselor, following my passion for working with kids and others who are hurting. My goal in life has always been to “be the person I needed when I was younger” and that’s exactly why I began blogging – to make sure people don’t feel unheard or alone. In my spare time, when I am not working, I like to workout, cook, and spend time with my niece and nephew.
As you can tell from what I post, my passions are mental health, spirituality, and how they overlap. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I have a heart for children and people in general who have survived abuse as well. I’ve dabbled in blogging before, but never stuck with it because it didn’t feel genuine. My shame got in the way of my honesty. My goal with this blog is to take my focus off of me and my pain, and begin shining light on what Jesus has done to bring me out of it.
